WATERLOW PARK | Camden, London
SUMMARY: Survey & Design of Two Lodges
CLIENT: London Borough of Camden
ARCHITECT: AAB Architects
Waterlow Park in Highgate is bookended by two old gatehouses that were being used as workshops, welfare buildings and satellite offices for the London Borough of Camden's Parks department.
Both buildings are of historic interest but the house at the Western end of the park, adjacent to Highgate cemetery, is particularly striking dating back to 1840. Through long use, both buildings needed restoration and Freeman Beesley were appointed to survey and design the M&E services for the conversion of these buildings back into family dwellings.
