JUBILEE WATERSIDE, FRANK BARNES SCHOOL | London
SUMMARY: Conversion of Canal Side Buildings
ARCHITECT: AAB Architects
Freeman Beesley were engaged by the London Borough of Camden to survey and assess a number of candidate sites for the relocation of the Frank Barnes School for Deaf Children.
The assessment process considered all number of different factors including architectural layout, accessibility, location and transport links. Our brief was to assess and comment on the suitability and condition of the existing M&E services at each site, together with the cost to renovate, adapt and replace the services as required to convert each of the buildings.
Jubilee Waterside Centre, King's Cross, was eventually selected as the preferred location. Freeman Beesley were further appointed to provide designs to convert the buildings from a sports and leisure facility into a school.
