FENCHURCH STREET | Fenchurch St, London
SUMMARY: Mechanical Design & Coordination
Also known as the Walkie Talkie, this building was constructed as a shell and core. Our involvement in the project involved the fit-out of 6,600m² over three of the upper floors and our brief was to provide coordinated building services designs.
The accommodation included offices, meeting rooms, computer suites, restaurants, lounges etc. The higher than typical occupancies in some areas required a negotiation with the building landlords for additional fresh-air and chilled water.
Detailed coordination was required due to the congestion of downstand beams in the ceiling voids. This was carried out using 3D design software. The kitchen extract system had to be run up to the plant area on the roof behind the public viewing areas.
