In a joint venture with Woodfuel Works, Freeman Beesley were commissioned by Medway District Council to conduct a study into the feasibility of installing biomass fuelled CHP installations into selected municipal buildings. The study served as a prelude to carrying out a working installation as a research project.
The buildings comprised three leisure centres plus the main council administration building.
The study included detailed building surveys, analysis of existing energy consumptions, investigations into the different Biomass and CHP technologies, analysis of the different fuel supply chains including delivery and fuel storage arrangements.
